We are celebrating 50 years of training for media careers

05.19.2026

For 50 years, we have been preparing talented individuals to launch their careers in the media industry. What began in 1976 with the founding of the first ‘School of Audio Engineering’ (SAE) in Sydney has grown into a global network of 49 schools across 20 countries – and, above all, a strong community.

Behind this success are the people who drive SAE forward every day: dedicated teams at our schools and industry professionals who share their knowledge. The result: thousands of alumni are now shaping the media world – in audio, film, games, animation and far beyond. This fills us with pride and gratitude!

Our anniversary is both a milestone and a source of motivation for us. To ensure we can continue to offer our students the best possible education in an innovative environment, we are constantly reinventing ourselves and further developing our programmes. Our ambition: over the next 50 years, we want to continue setting the gold standard in training for media professions!

Thank you to our students, alumni and industry partners who have accompanied us on this unique journey for the past 50 years.
